Individual Therapy

Different problems—and different kinds of stuckness—require different approaches.

Some difficulties are maintained by worry, rumination, avoidance, perfectionism, or the search for certainty. Others may involve emotional disconnection, relationship patterns, trauma, shame, protective responses, or deeply held beliefs that make change feel unsafe.

The BRIDGE Framework is the process I use to organize our work. It helps us understand what you are experiencing, consider what may be keeping the difficulty in place, and determine which evidence-based approach or approaches may be most helpful. Depending on your needs, our work may draw from cognitive, behavioral, metacognitive, interpersonal, experiential, trauma-informed, and body-informed approaches.

BRIDGE does not prescribe a particular treatment technique or require therapy to follow a fixed sequence. Instead, it provides a flexible structure for making thoughtful, collaborative decisions about the focus, direction, and depth of therapy.

I help adults with concerns such as:

Overthinking and emotional distress

  • Anxiety, worry, rumination, and uncertainty
  • Depression, loss of motivation, numbness, or disconnection
  • Perfectionism, self-criticism, and over-responsibility

Recurring emotional and relational patterns

  • Trauma-related concerns and protective responses
  • Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
  • Patterns that continue despite insight or previous therapy

Loss, health, and significant change

  • Grief, ambiguous loss, and caregiver stress
  • Chronic illness and health-related adjustment
  • Changes in identity, roles, relationships, or direction

Midlife, perimenopause, and menopause

  • Emotional and mental-health concerns during hormonal change
  • Shifts in mood, relationships, identity, and sense of self
  • Multiple midlife pressures occurring at the same time
