INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR MIDLIFE TRANSITIONS

Midlife can change the questions you ask.

Midlife isn't defined by one age or one experience. It can be a period when roles, relationships, priorities, responsibilities, health, and identity begin to shift—sometimes gradually and sometimes all at once.

You may find yourself questioning things that once felt settled: a relationship, career, family role, how you spend your time, what you need from other people, or what you want the next part of your life to look like.

You may find yourself asking...

  • Is this still the life I want?
  • Who am I when roles that once defined me begin to change?
  • Why am I questioning things I thought I had figured out?
  • How do I care for others without disappearing from my own life?
  • What do I want to keep—and what am I ready to change?
  • What do I want the next chapter to look like?

HOW THERAPY MAY HELP

The BRIDGE Framework helps organize our work. We begin with what is happening now, develop greater steadiness, explore what may be maintaining the difficulty, clarify what matters in this chapter, generate realistic possibilities, and learn from gradual changes in everyday life.

The work can include practical problem-solving, emotional processing, relationship and boundary work, grief, identity and values work, decision-making, trauma-informed treatment, or a combination of these approaches.

Could perimenopause or menopause also be part of what you're experiencing?

Midlife changes don't happen in isolation. For some people, the psychological demands of this stage of life occur alongside changes associated with perimenopause or menopause.
